・I got a raise.（給料があがった）
・We'll make certain you get all the
credit you deserve.（きみに値するすべての名声を、確実にきみが得られるようにしてあげよう）

●「頭で理解する」ことも、この「所有する」グループに分類できます。
以下は、「わかった」に関する例文です。get は understand
に置き換えることができます。
・I got it.（わかった）
・Okay, I got your point.（きみの主張はわかったよ）
・I don't get it.（わかりません）
・But you get my point.（だけど、きみは僕の主張がわかったね）
You don't understand me. は、くだけた言い回しでは You
don't get me. となります。
Please don't get me wrong.（誤解しないでください）は会話で使える便利な表現です。get
me wrong は、me（私の意味するところ）を wrong（間違えて）、get（理解する）という意味です。
実際の会話で、ややこしい話を始める前に Please don't get me wrong, but ... というふうに切り出すと、その後の議論をていねいに聞いてもらえます。
